Marc Jacobs attended last night’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in an ultra sheer lace dress that left little to the imagination. Of course to be respectful to attendees, the Louis Vuitton designer wore white boxers underneath, we would have gone for black briefs to be provocative. Jacobs said of his outfit choice that:
“I just didn’t want to wear a tuxedo and be boring. I think Miuccia Prada is such a celebration of the unconventional and so it felt like, appropriate, somehow. [Schiaparelli and Prada] are two women that I have always loved the work of. I mean, Schiaparelli is one of my all-time heroes and Miuccia Prada continues to be a hero of mine. I am just looking forward to seeing the exhibition.”
As you know, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is a big fan of lace dresses. Starting with her Collette Dinnigan dress worn to several weddings, then navy Erdem lace dresses she wore in Canada to the gorgeous Temperley black long sleeve lace gown she wore to the ware horse premiere, Kate has made lace new again.
So we ask you this Glamazons, who wore it best? Marc Jacobs in his lace shirt dress and pilgrim shoes or Kate in her Temperley London gown. Also tell us, which couple would you crown as best dressed?
