The Olsen sisters have some serious style and know how to make anything look good. Mary Kate and Ashley have distinguished themselves as two individual style icons with their own personalities and looks. Ashley tends to be on the same wave length as I am in terms of style. She’s often seen in conservative looks as opposed to her sister’s bohemian-inspired ensembles. I love each girl’s style but Ashley’s looks translate well into mainstream fashion. For example, I can see a woman walking on the streets of Washington in an Ashley Olsen inspired outfit. Mary Kate’s looks are daring, not that Ashley’s aren’t, but she is on a level that Washingtonians are probably not ready for.
I saw this picture of Ashley Olsen on her the street, Starbucks in hand, looking as fabulous as ever. Her effortless all black ensemble inspired me to update my look with a body-con skirt and a scarf. I think most women have almost everything she’s wearing in this look and need a few pieces to re-create the outfit. Her ensemble would work well for a work to evening outfit with change of jewelry, make-up and hair pulled back. This look can be achieved at any price point so I went ahead and picked out items for every budget. The investment piece is definitely her Fendi bag. You can get away with an Ann Taylor bag or spend a bit more for a durable DKNY bag from the Spring 2010 collection.
