Fabulous Frocks for Easter

Easter is right around the corner and if you’re like me, you’ve probably procrastinated until this point to get an outfit for church. I know what some of you might say, “Going to church should not be a fashion show.” Yes in some ways church should not be the place to show off the latest fashions, however, if you want to look polished, you have to invest in good outfits for church.

I’m a firm believer in making every single item I buy for my closet stretch. Which means every piece in my collection is versatile. Dresses intended for church should also be appropriate for work, with changes in accessories and shoes. In this economy, you must make sure that everything you buy is something that is classic, timeless and most importantly, versatile.

Some of my go to labels for chic dresses that can be worn to work, church or going out on the town are Lilly Pulitzer, Shoshana, Ali Ro, J. Crew, Dakota Martin, Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg and Ralph Lauren. These labels make clothes that are timeless and reasonably priced. Dresses or separates run between $50 and $500, sure it’s not cheap but it’s also not too expensive. For essential closet pieces, you have to spend a little bit more money on higher quality. Don’t get me wrong, I love Forever 21, Target and Gap for a lot of things but at times, it’s worth it to buy a dress or a cardigan (cashmere) that you know is more expensive but will last three times as long as a $20 cardigan.

For the budget conscious fashionista, shopping can be a bit of a challenge. How can you buy a good quality item without breaking the bank? Two words: online shopping. Stores like Chadwicks, Victoria’s Secret, Talbots and Liz Claiborne have some chic and fabulous options that will stretch your fashion dollars. I found some great deals at Chadwicks on fun frocks for spring and Easter at great prices. The dress pictured is just $49.99 and comes in four different colors. No matter which dresses you choose to step out in for Easter, make sure you feel comfortable and look fab.
