The First Lady has been the most on demand cover girl since the inauguration. Vogue snagged her for the March 2009 cover and now Essence magazine has followed suit by capturing Michelle Obama with her mother for the May cover.

She take a break from J. Crew, a welcomed change, and opts for a floral print dress from Talbots. Paired with a green and blue cardigan and a deep purple belt, Michelle looks totally fab.

I have walked by Talbots many times but never ventured in to see what they had in stock. I guess I always thought it was too much of a “mommy” store for my taste. The dress Michelle wears on the cover however, makes me think twice about passing up on Talbots.

The rose print silk dress is still available online at a reduced price of $129 from $169. This is the perfect spring dress that can be accessorized or paired with different cardigans, belts and shoes for different looks.

This is not a Talbots dress. Look at the top. It is not like the one on line or in the stores.
