When it comes to transitioning my closet from summer to fall, I always start with the essentials first. As an entrepreneur, I spend most of my days at home behind the computer screen and when I’m out and about, I’m usually shooting content for my blog and brands. In the chillier autumn months, I like simplicity when it comes to every day dressing and for me that means reaching for one of the 15 or so sweater dresses hanging in my IKEA Pax closet.
I love dresses all year round for the sheer fact that I don’t have to think too much about coordinating my look as I would with a skirt or pant. For fall, my sweater dresses serve as a daily uniform, one that will transition from virtual meetings to coffee and lunch dates in the city. All I need to elevate my look is a statement necklace or earrings, some sunglasses and a coat if the weather gets a little nippy.
The sweater dress should be in your fall staples or capsule collection because there are so many options in different price points and styles. My favorite retailers like Amazon, ASOS, Banana Republic, Fashion to Figure, Macy’s, Eloquii and Nordstrom have a sweater dresses to fit different sizes, shapes and aesthetics. I’m currently smitten with three styles from Fashion to Figure that I want to add for date nights at home this fall/winter.
