I spent my Sunday watching Kinky Boots and True Blood all day.  Watching Lola scream about the perfect shade of red for her OTK boots and Eric Northman sinking his fangs into Sookie in anticipation of the season premiere.  You could say I was seeing red all day long.  So for my Monday Manicure, I decided to lacquer my nails with a spicy red polish.  I received a sample of Emma Jean Scented Nail Paint in Mother’s Garden a few weeks ago and saw this as the perfect opportunity to try it out.

Formula: All Emma Jean™ scented nail polishes are vegan and cruelty-Free. They also do do not contain harmful ingredients such as Toluene, Formaldehyde, Camphor, Formaldehyde Rebin and Dibutyl Phthalates. With so many companies touting 3f and 4f formulas, 5f is the way to go.

Application: The serrated bottle cap makes it easy to unscrew and open.  The medium brush has average stiffness, which makes it easy to apply the formula without effort.  The polish glides on smoothly and dries in about about 2 minutes for the first coat and four minutes for the second.  Though it’s got a glossy finish, adding a top coat really enhances the sheen.

After the polish dried, it had a pleasant scent instead of the harsh nail polish scent I’ve become accustomed to.   Even after applying my top coat, I was still able to smell the geranium scent.  At just $7 a bottle, Emma Jean Cosmetics nail polishes are a best buy.  There are 32 colors in the collection, all with different scents.
