The Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Southampton this morning looking cheerful and bold in an animal print coat by Hobbs for the Royal Princess cruise ship naming ceremony.  Now in her last trimester of pregnancy – she’s due in July – Kate looked radiant as she boarded the giant ship to cut the ceremonial ribbon.  It is worth noting that this is her final official appearance before the baby’s arrival.

For the occasion, Kate chose an above the knee Hobbs Dalmatian print coat, which was a bold choice for her normally conservative sartorial choices.  As a style maven, she knows to wear one statement piece and go easy on other elements of her style.

She opted for a black hat by Sylvia Fletcher at Lock & Co., as well as black pumps and her Annoushka pearl drop earrings.  She also debuted a new bag, the Alexander McQueen Wicca Mini-Satchel, from fall 2011.

The Hobbs Dalmatian Coat is currently sold out on the company’s website but available in sizes 12 and 14 on John Lewis.  The print is also available in a shift dress, slim fit trousers and a blazer.
