Alexander Wang’s appointment as the creative director of Balenciaga put him under the microscope this fashion week as he presented his eponymous label for all the world to see.  He proved that he is worth of the post, showing a luxe collection infused with the Alexander Wang sporty aesthetic yet a bit more grown-up and sophisticated.   Wang did not skimp on attention to his own label, giving us pieces for the futuristic woman with lots of fur and leather.  Of course there were wrap sweater dresses, silver flecked trousers and impressive grey dress twisted and draped with perfection.  If this collection is indicative of what’s to come for Balenciaga, we’re mighty scared for our bank accounts.
