Monika Chiang brought her youthful brand inside the tents at Lincoln Center this year, showing her spring 2013 collection inside the box in a well executed presentation. She offered up a casual glamor infused with athletic influences that stars like Kim Kardashian, Zoe Saldana and Rachel Bilson are sure to love. Though minimalist in its aesthetic, the collection offered up separates with intricate details like snakeskin piping on a black leather skirt and glittery piping on a baby blue biker jacket.
If Gwen Stefani did not have her own line, she would surely flock to Monika Chiang’s collection, which had pieces like silk track pants with drawstring waists, tailored blazers, sleeveless leather jackets and a long pleated palazzo trouser for effortless yet glamorous. Accessories is an area Monika greatly excels. Strappy stilettos in sandy beige, orange and grey complimented the collection. Slouchy handbags received the utilitarian treatment with silver hardware and snakeskin clutches in gold, black and orange.
