Omega to Release 50th Anniversay James Bond Timepiece

March 8, 2012

Women love James Bond for his good looks, suave personality and an impeccable taste for beautiful suits, beautiful girls, exotic locations and a well made watch.  Ok so men love him too for his bad ass moves and probably most of the above as well.  For the 23rd installment of the James Bond movie franchise, ‘Skyfall’ starring Daniel Craig, we know he’ll be wearing an Omega watch, the design of which is being kept under wraps until the films debut.  Until then however, Omega is releasing a 50th Anniversary collector’s timepiece for 007 movie buffs.

The limited edition Seamaster Diver will include a black dial with a 007 monogram embossed on it and a case back stamped with a gun-barrel design. The watch comes in two sizes: 36.2 millimeters, in a limited edition of 3,007 pieces priced at $5,200, and 41 millimeters, in a limited edition of 11,007 that will retail for $5,000.  The watches will be released this spring, making them a perfect gift for father’s day.

Omega’s sister company, Swatch, which makes affordable plastic watches is also entertaining the idea of making cheaper versions of the watch for James Bond movie buffs who can’t afford to splurge on a $5,000 watch.
