Dolce & Gabbana has once again tapped makeup artist extraordinaire, Pat McGrath, to create a smoldering color cosmetics collection inspired by Sophia Loren’s piercing gaze in “Pane Amore e…” (Scandal in Sorrento). The Khol Collection for eyes and nails features strong, vibrant and rich colors for sultry, smoky eyes and notice me nails for the adventurous Dolce&Gabbana client.
Khol Collection consists of a five piece new soft-tipped, pigment-rich Intense Khol Eye Crayons specially formulated for easy application (to create flicks, wings and clean lines) as well as for smudging to create a smoky eye effect. The khol pencil comes in five shades: Peacock – a vivid blue/green; True Black – a rich carbon colour; True White – for highlighting and brightening the eyes; Chocolate – a velvety, cocoa shade; and Dahlia, a deep burgundy hue mixed with a hint of grey.
The Femme Fatale Quad, with its rich variety of neutrals serves to create the ultimate dramatic eye. Create depth by using carbon black, while the shades of taupe and loam brown for shading, shaping and adding tonal depth. Use the white to highlight the brow and the corner of the eyes.
Make a bold statement with the richly pigmented nail varnishes in the Dolce & Gabbana Khol Collection. The shades match the rayon colours perfectly with colors like True White, which adds a fresh ‘mod’ element to nails; Wild Green – a beautiful, verdant shade; and Peacock, a two-tone blue/green colour, Chocolate, a velvety cocoa shade and Dahlia, a deep burgundy hue.
The brand has nabbed Like Crazy actress Felicity Jones as the face of the Dolce & Gabbana Khol Collection. Jone goes through quite a transformation for her advertising campaign but then again, the point of this collection is push the envelope and be bold.
