Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Impulse

August 2, 2011

Everyone wants a piece of Uncle Karl, Lagerfeld, that is.  The Chanel creative director is a one man tour de force reshaping what ‘luxury’ means.  His accessories for Chanel and Fendi and some of the most coveted and most recognizable pieces in the world.  With such a talent for creating of-the-moment items that are also timeless, it’s no wonder everything he creates turns to sold.  Everyone wants a piece of Karl, from promoting Volkswagen to photographing Daphne Guinness for V magazine or directing a commercial for Magnum ice cream or a short movie for Chanel Resort collections, there is nothing this silver fox can’t do.  If you have limited funds like yours truly, the only Karl creation you can afford is that V Magazine or the Magnum ice cream, neither of which are timeless. What is a girl to do?

On August 31, Macy’s is bringing babes on a budget Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse, the department store’s newest designer collaborations available online and in stores nationwide.  According to Macy’s:

The Karl Lagerfeld capsule has a sophisticated aesthetic that weaves rich fabrics and chic silhouettes together to create a collection with a modern and versatile twist. The collection is a blend of refined dresses, airy tops, modern tweeds and his signature high-collared neck, priced on average from $50 to $170. A juxtaposition of color and graphic pattern create a vision of modern styling, while a tailored tuxedo dress with pin tucking exemplifies eternal elegance. The color palette ranges from soft to shocking pink and grey to noir. Collectible tee-shirts and comfortable jackets mixed with crocodile print combine with chic leggings to give the collection a refreshing rock ’n’ roll edge.

Start saving up ladies! Because once this collection is gone, it’s gone. No re-stocking!
