Pre-Fall 2011 | Carolina Herrera

December 12, 2010

Designer: Carolina Herrera
Trends & Colors: French gray and pewter blue, with just a shot or two of poppy red and gold, abstract leopard print
Quote: “Who wants to come out in brights [for pre-fall]? I saw it had to be subtle.”
My Thoughts: Carolina Herrera is the Dame of Upper East Side dressing.  She makes clothes with the Park Avenue lady who lunches and the socialite who needs something stunning, timeless and effortless to wear to one of her many evening red carpet events in mind. For Pre-Fall 2011 I love the clean and simple color palette with pops of color mixed into her collection.
The hemlines are exactly where I like my dresses and skirts to be, knee length. The prints in her collection is also toned down, as illustrated in the one shoulder leopard print dress.  I can picture a bevy of Hollywood beauties that would look gorgeous in Herrera’s silhouettes for luncheon awards and less formal red carpet opportunities.
