Saks Fifth Avenue will sell a $25 “Fashion for Haiti” T-shirt beginning February 23 to support a nation-wide, fashion industry led effort to raise monies for the victims of the devastating January 12 earthquake in Haiti. The T-shirts, available in all Saks Fifth Avenue full line stores and on saks.com, are a wearable reminder of the need to continue to support Haiti. Saks will donate $15 from the sale of each T-shirt to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, which is raising funds for immediate, high-impact relief and long-term recovery efforts to help those who are most in need of assistance. To further support relief efforts, the company has made a separate financial contribution to the American Red Cross.
“Saks Fifth Avenue is eager to support the ‘Fashion For Haiti’ initiative and praises the fashion industry’s collaborative and thoughtfully executed response to this overwhelming tragedy,” Steve Sadove, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saks Fifth Avenue
“The tragedy in Haiti has affected everyone and most of us individually have given money for relief,” said Diane von Furstenberg, President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. “However, I think it is now important to send a message and create a channel for funding from fashion as an industry.
The shirt is available in both men and women’s style and is manufactured by Theory under the “Fashion for Haiti” label. I bought a shirt at the Bryant Park tents and urge all you Glamazons to show your support by buying one as well. Join the fashion industry as they help raise money to
