If there is one collection I am going to push this spring, it’s that of the DKNY spring 2010 collection. Everything was done oh so right. I want every single piece in the collection with my favorites being the black and white patterned long sleeve dress, the shorts suit, which I’ve been seeing in a lot of spring collections this year. DKNY is affordable and so durable. I can’t tell you how many of their clothes I still have from college. The accessories are also a must have; with my favorite being the large black bag with the silk DKNY scarf. I can see almost every woman in Washington in these ensembles, which can take you from work to cocktails to dancing at District in Adams Morgan or even dinner at Potenza on a Friday night.
I really want the DKNY shorts suit though but a bit apprehensive about pushing it for a work environment. I think those with a casual office environment or a more fashion/magazine job can wear this to work. Washington law firms are too conservative for the shorts suit though. Can you imagine walking into Hogan & Hartson or a lobbying firm like DUTKO Worldwide in a short suit? You’d probably be the talk of the office but not in a good way. I’m already eyeing the strappy heels, sunglasses and a few pieces I am not going to mention because I don’t want to see someone in my dress at any of the spring events.
