It was all about texture, frills and prints at 3.1 Phillip Lim. If Lim’s designs are predictors of what’s to come for Spring 2009, sign me up. Lim’s African-inspired collection takes us to North Africa where Moorish influences are especially evident in accessories. From chunky textured bracelets and ribbon adorned necklace to snakeskin and suede fringe Christian Louboutin’s the sphere of influence Africa has had on fashion in the past three season’s is going strong. Spring is not all rustic, Lim balanced out masculine elements in his collection with feminine ruffles and fringe on dresses and shoes. Master shoe designer Christian Louboutin partnered with Lim to create luscious shoes in mouth watering tropical and metallic colors for the spring collection.
