Valentino has made cameos in iconic movies such as The Devil Wears Prada but in May of this year, he will be immortalized on the silver screen in the documentary “Valentino: The Last Emperor.” The film will debut at the Cannes Film Festival.
The documentary offers an intimate look at the professional and personal life of the design icon [Valentino] and his long-time business partner, Giancarlo Giammetti. Since the launch of his own atelier in 1959, Valentino has dressed first ladies, celebrities and heads of state. He retired from the world stage in January at his last Haute-Couture show. The documentary is produced by Matt Tyrnauer who for the last two years shot over 250 hours of footage of the designer and his entourage.
