nothing fancy, just a taste of home
Thomas and I are both foreigners who met and fell in love in a foreign land. He’s from France and I am from Ghana. He matriculated to New York City in his 20s and has never left. I, on the other hand, came here at 13 years of age and lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., and finally New York City. We are now married and live in a second floor unit of a brownstone in Park Slope, Brooklyn. What our apartment lacks in space, is made up with an open kitchen and dining room where we cook meals together almost every night with a stellar playlist and cocktails to boot.
We are both huge foodies and will eat or try almost anything, within reason of course. Our kitchen is always bursting with aromatics from Ghana, Morocco, Mexico, Italy and France, the the five culinary cultures we love most. I am more of the adventurous cook while Thomas razzle dazzles with his cocktail making prowess. We love to entertain friends for dinner parties inside the apartment and barbecues and brunches in our backyard.
