Alexander Wang launches his very first ad campaign for his T collection, which goes on sale on his website starting Monday. The campaign posters will not be in magazine but will be plastered all over New York City as a guerilla marketing tool. Wang says he doesn’t plan on using the photos in magazines or expanding it outside of NYC but will consider it “if it becomes something people really respond to, but right now New York City is where it’s at. This is our home,” he told WWD.
The images shot by Dan Jackson and featuring model Hannah Holman were originally supposed to be used as posters that would be sent to editors and stores. Wang says he changed his mind because he:
“felt the energy was much more appropriate for something like guerrilla marketing than anything too proper or formal. Because T is really the core foundation of what Alexander Wang stands for, I thought it should be something that could be much more democratic.”
