You’ve all probably had your share of the Heidi Montag cosmetic surgery controversy since the story broke last week. The reality star has gotten a bad name for being an attention whore. Whether you love or hate her, you have to admit that there is something to be said about going to the extremes to look “beautiful.” If you ask me, Heidi’s first cosmetic surgery was successful and something that you can say was needed. She wanted her nose a bit more defined and larger breasts. I think most people will agree with me when I say that the Heidi Montag of 2009 was a major improvement over the one from before, although she was still a beautiful girl before surgery.
Heidi’s second time under the knife is heartbreaking because she really took it too far by getting ten procedures done. The girl is only 23 years old so I was a bit baffled to hear of Botox injections, brow lifts and other facial reconstruction procedures. I don’t think Heidi is a bad person because she had not done anything bad to anyone, except for the rumors that were swirling around when she was on the Hills. She probably suffers from famewhoreitis but so do most people in Hollywood.
The issue I have with Heidi’s new image is that those ten cosmetic plastic procedures have turned her into a completely different person. I am not sure if she suffers from body dysmporphic disorder but it’s really sad that the innocent looking girl has now turned into a vixen; maybe that’s what she was going for. She looks very superficial but still very beautiful. If you step back and keep objectivity in mind, you can see that her post surgery body isn’t bad. She still looks beautiful and if you were to see the “after” picture not knowing that that was Heidi Montag, you would probably compliment on how pretty the person looked.
My only advice for Heidi is that she needs to stay humble. It’s great to be confident and want to do well but to go as far as to say her album will top that of Michael Jackson’s Thriller is a complete joke. I also don’t think she should be selling her “workout” videos when she clearly uses liposuction to drop the “so-called” last 10 pounds or so. I’m not hating on her though because if I had the money, I too would go under the knife to get a few pounds sucked out.
