What a stud: Spring shoe trend

February 26, 2009

My obsession with shoes started at the ripe age of thirteen when my mother took me to the shoe department at Nordstrom in Tysons Corner. A decade later, I find myself sitting in a small apartment with over 100 pairs of shoes and no room to store them.

Spring is almost here and that means, I need to get more shoes to spruce up my ensemble for work and play. I have my classic shoes that will never go out of style and splurged enough on them that they stay durable through daily use. On the other side of my shoe closet are my fun and trendy shoes that periodically come back in style. The Steve Madden shoes on the left are part of this collection.

Perfect for a night out on the town or work (if you work in a trendy office or laid back office), the Revenu is the perfect shoes for any outfit. It’s peeptoe, sling back and bootie all wrapped up into one. What makes this shoe even more appealing are the gold studs adorning the top on them. Studded items are a hot trend for spring and this hot number should be on your radar. It’s available at Nordstrom for $129.95.

Gladiator sandals and heels are still hot for this season. Aren’t you glad you got a pair last year instead of hopping on the bandwagon this time around? Set more trends with this yellow Vince Camuto Paige Sandal with rustic brass studs. Perfect for a white dress or shorts and a billowy top, this shoe will be a favorite all spring and summer long.

It’s also available at Nordstrom for $129.95. If you have to spend money on just one item with studs that will last until the fall, I suggest going for these shoes because it’s airy and open for those hot summer nights. Who wants their feet trapped in booties during the summer? Not me.

Tip: Schedule a pedicure asap before strapping peeptoed shoes or sandals on. Your feet have been hiding in socks, tights and boots all winter long and need a primp and pampering session before being unleashed.
