Our French wedding
WELCOME TO OUR WEDDING JOURNEY
As we embarked on the beautiful adventure of planning our wedding, Thomas and I knew that our love story deserved a backdrop as enchanting as our union. With his family rooted in France and mine spread across Ghana and Europe, we decided on a destination wedding in the charming town of Poitiers, France. This decision felt serendipitous, especially considering the challenges of 2021. Ghana shares the same time zone as France, making it a breeze for our families to travel, and it turned out to be a blessing amidst the travel restrictions that limited entry to the United States.
We chose September 4, 2021, strategically aligning our celebration with Labor Day weekend in the U.S., ensuring that our American friends could join us without the usual work constraints. It was the perfect opportunity for our loved ones to take a much-needed vacation after the challenges of 2020, so we welcomed them to France for ten unforgettable days.
Join us as we relive the magic of our wedding journey, celebrating love, family, and the moments that made our special day truly unforgettable!
Our Engagement
Pop open the champagne because I’m thrilled to share that I’m getting married!
You might be wondering if I knew T was going to propose. The answer? Kind of! Two years ago, during a trip to Virginia for Thanksgiving, we went ring shopping together at Zales and a few local stores. I had always envisioned a blingy three-stone diamond halo ring, but tastes evolve, and I found myself craving something more simple, elegant, and timeless.
While we had hoped to tie the knot in 2020, life took an unexpected turn with the passing of my dad last summer. We knew the timing wasn’t right, and though I felt frustrated at times, I firmly believe that God has a plan for me.
Then, the pandemic hit, throwing all our plans into disarray. Unbeknownst to me, T had ordered my custom ring back in March, but with everything shutting down, I didn’t see it until mid-July—just an hour before our trip to Virginia!
Little did I know, T had orchestrated quite the drama to keep the ring a surprise. He even had to use a decoy ring to throw me off the scent! Join me as I dive into the sweet details of our proposal story, filled with love, family, and a few surprises along the way.
I can’t wait to share this beautiful chapter of our lives with you—click here to discover the full story!

Alterations Tip
Wedding dresses typically require multiple fitting sessions to achieve the perfect fit, and it’s essential to allow ample time for any adjustments. This ensures that you not only get the desired look but also have time for any unexpected changes or additional fittings that may be needed as your body shape or preferences evolve leading up to the wedding day. Aim to schedule your first fitting at least 2-3 months before your wedding date so that you can enjoy a stress-free experience and feel confident in your gown on the big day!
