Model turned fashion designer Abigail Lorick has received so much media buzz since her costume collection debuted on the television series Gossip Girl. Blair Waldorf’s mother debuted her collection – which were actually Lorick’s designs – on the show. Despite designing clothing collections for fictional characters on Gossip Girl, Lorick unveiled her first actual collection last night before the official kick off of New York Fashion Week.
The staged collection featured models in seven themed rooms reminiscent of a scene from Gossip Girl including “After the Storm,” “Demolition Party,” “A Room of One’s Own,” “Overgrown Garden,” “Bedroom Disaster,” “In Limbo,” and the extra sweet “Cake Coma.” The Blair Waldorf inspired collection featured ladylike frocks, skirts and separates fit for polo matches in the Hamptons. All the models were in perfectly coifed “Stepford Wife-esque do’s and makeup. Lorick’s line most likely be featured on Gossip Girl this season and no doubt every teenager and 20-something girl will rush to stores to pick up a piece of pop culture. Lorick will be available online exclusively on Gargyle.com starting November 30.
