Happy Monday! Can you believe we’re past mid-March? I tell you time surely flies when you’re busy making plans. We just got back from a nice weekend in Virginia celebrating my dad’s retirement from the Food & Drug Administration. He’s worked so hard to provide for our entire family so it’s time for him to enjoy the fruits of his labor.
No more two hour commutes on I-95 during rush hour or waking up at 4 am just to get ready for work. I also got to spend time with my two gorgeous nieces who turn 2 and 6 this March and April, respectively. I’ll share a few photos from the weekend with you later this week. Until then, let’s talk about one of my favorite spring trends, PEARLS!
Pearls are no longer for old ladies, Southern girls or the preppy set this spring. There are so many iterations of pearl accessories on the market with something for everyone. I’ve worn pearl strands since my Washington, DC days but the fresh new take on this traditional gem is giving me all the spring feels.
Let’s start from the top with hair accessories. You can adorn your mane with pearl headbands like this one from Lele Sadoughi, NAMJOSH, and Karen Wolf or polish off a sleek ponytail with pearl barrettes like this one from Amazon or Anthropologie and BaubleBar. Headbands and earrings aren’t the only things getting the pearl treatment. Clothing, shoes, handbags and even sunglasses are now embellished with stunning pearls. I snagged my pretty pink pearl coat from Eloquii two years ago but had yet to wear it until last fall. I also recently bought this pearl bag, a dupe of the Shrimps Antonia bag, from Amazon back in January. It’s become such a go-to bag to zhuzh up any outfit.
