Have you seen Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix? It’s about world-renowned tidying expert going into American homes and teaching different households how to declutter, clean and organize using the KonMari method. The KonMari Method consists of gathering all of your belongings, one category at a time, and then keeping only the things that spark joy. It’s sparked a national clean out with so many of the folks I follow on IG decluttering as if their lives depended on it. I’ve utilized some of Kondo’s method of folding my clothes and it’s made a big difference. After watching I’ve decided to go through the entire KonMari Method to FINALLY purge both my and T’s closets as well as the entire apartment.
With that being said, I am trying to streamline my closet so that I don’t have things spilling into common spaces when I get new items in my closet. As a blogger, I get sent so many fashion and beauty items from brands. These add to the clutter in my apartment. In keeping with the Love theme of 2019, I am vowing to love my space enough to respect and honor it by decluttering and keeping only the things I need or bring me joy.
With that said, I still love getting new items to breathe life into my wardrobe so here are a few things on my wishlist to transition from winter to spring.
We still need to bundle up with temps hitting the teens this month. I love a good statement coat (click here to see how I styled some of my favorite coats this season). This olive green cape coat from & Other Stories is such a standout. I love the silhouette of this coat plus its versatility. It can be worn as a cape or as an actual coat via the sleeves. I would love to wear it with a vibrant color like this yellow dress by Silvia Tcherassi. The tea length is my favorite length but can we talk about that bow in the front? So fab!
With spring only two months away, I have started stocking up on accessories to zhuzh up my outfit. I love finishing off my look with hats and this boater from Eugenia Kim is the perfect topper for a day out in Prospect Park. I also drift towards headbands to keep my hair away from my face, especially on bad hair days. This one from Knotted Stripe Bow Headband from Nordstrom is super cute and will go with so many items in my closet. It comes in four colors and retails for $26.
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner so the Annaelle Heart Hoop Earrings from Baublebar have my name written all over them. I love the black and gold stripe and the whimsical shape. I also love this trunk bag from Hunting Season fits the bill. I love the blue and creme leather and raffia combo, as well as the top handle. I am a sucker for polka dots and flat mules. I can see myself wearing the Kiki Bow Mules by Polly Plume with everything from denim to dresses and skirts.
As far as beauty goes, I am trying to reduce bloating and fatigue with healthy green juice in the mornings as well as probiotics. I am currently drinking the WelleCo Super Elixir but would like to start including the Nue & Co. Debloat Food & Pre-Biotic into my morning regimen for better gut health. I am also in the market for a new face oil and after finishing Sunday Riley’s Rapid Flash Brightening Serum, I am anxious to try another product from her collection. Her highly coveted U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil has received rave online reviews. I love using face oils as the finishing step in in face routine to lock and seal in moisture and keep my skin plump and fresh all day long.
