Don’t let television images of heel clad fashionistas on these New York streets fool you! We live in a walking city and a majority of us wear our comfiest shoes from point A to point B. I live for a cute outfit and a high heel moment but when running to press appointments and meetings, comfort is key. I recently acquired a pair of the comfiest slip-on sneakers from Vionic that are more fashionable and comfortable than my gym sneakers.
These are my first pair of shoes from Vionic, a brand I’ve heard about multiple times but never tried. I’ve been living in the Midi Perf Slip-On Sneakers since getting them. The shoes are well made and provide hours of comfort thanks to the removable microfiber-covered EVA orthotic insert. That’s right, I said orthotic. This ain’t your mama’s orthotic either. These are functional shoes that molded to my feet after several wears.
I broke my fibula and tore all the ligaments in my left ankle a few years back. Since then, my gait has been a little off thanks to a plate and screws in my leg. I used to get swollen ankles after hours on my feet but these shoes have made a big difference and have become one of my go-to shoes for swollen feet. Better yet, I don’t get the swelling I normally get in my other shoes thanks because of the orthotic insert. I’m actually thinking of getting one more pair in a more neutral color.
I wore the Vionic Midi Perf Slip-On Sneakers a few days ago and got caught in the rain. I was apprehensive about my feet getting wet. The shoes dried almost instantly and they still look pretty new. We’re heading to France next month for 20-days of glorious vacation and I’m definitely bringing these along to make it easier for me to get in and out of my travel shoes during airport security checkpoints.
