I’ve been to Houston, Texas three times in my life and each time have had such a blast. I have been meaning to do a Houston Travel Guide for a while but needed to add a few more places to my list. I went twice for my job while working at The Root to plan a women’s event at the House of Dereon. Yes THE house of Dereon that is owned by Beyonce’s family. The last time was purely to visit friends and explore this darling city in the Lone Star State. I love the appeal of Houston, which has a completely different vibe from Dallas. I think of Houston as a friendlier, more approachable city with a diverse community and a vibrant social scene. There’s lot of shopping to be done, food to be eaten (hello Tex Mex) and events to attend.
