One of my favorite things about summer is having a backyard barbecue with friends. This summer is no exception, I will be crawfishing and cracking crab shells all summer long. Barbecuing and summer parties are times when we can give the stilettos and couture dresses a breather. Summer is about comfort and I for one refuse to stand up all day hanging out with friends in pumps, wedges, stilettos or platforms. Remember that shorts are not meant for everyone so if you don’t feel comfortable, simply go for a dress or skirt.

Make sure you keep accessories to a minimum and avoid anything with intricate strings that will tan easily. Of course make sure you use some sunscreen and party in moderation.
