When it comes to jeans, curvy women have a big problem finding the right fit. Most trendy brands are cut for stick thin girls with no curves. One of the biggest problems I always have when jean shopping is not getting them over my thighs and if I do, I end up with a waist that’s much too loose.
I know it’s important to get things tailored but I would like to get my jeans hemmed rather than a whole new reconstruction that will cost me too much money. There are only three denim brands I tout as friendly for the bottom heavy girl. I know there are brands that cater specifically to plus size women but I fall in the 10-12 ranges so I just want the major retailers to be a bit friendlier to curves.
Enter Target, or Tar-zhay as I like to call them, who just launched a brand new denim collection gals of all sizes are going to love! I tried on four styles in different washes on for size and couldn’t help but live in them. I tried three jeggings in mid-rise and high-rise and a straight leg jean that was a wee bit too long for my flats but just right with my 4.5 inch heels.
So what do I love about the new Target jeans? They fit like a dream. The jeggings have enough stretch to go over the thighs, a roomy seat and a fitted waist. If you have a smaller waist than your hips, I suggest you go for the high-waist jegging. It sits right above the belly button and holds you in perfectly.
I also love that each style comes in different inseams to fit petite, regular and tall frames. I am surprised I didn’t need a belt to cinch my waist. I have been living in these jeans for the past few weeks, traveling in them over the July 4th weekend, wearing them on casual Friday to work and even feeling sexy enough in them to go on date night with some Louis Vuitton loafers and a button down shirt.
I know there are some jean snobs out there, but finding a brand that is good quality and won’t break the bank is great news. The Target denim collection retails for under $35, making it a win-win in both fit and price. The styles are available in sizes 0 – 26. Now isn’t that just fabulous?
Curious about the fit? Get $10 off the Target Jeans when you try them on for yourself in store starting July 26th.
