Karl Lagerfeld Barbie Dolls Sells Out on Net-a-Porter

September 29, 2014

Karl Lagerfeld BarbieBarbie is having a major moment this season.  Starting with the Jeremy Scott for Moschino Barbie Collection to the Barbie Lounge during New York Fashion Week, fashionistas were seeing pink all over.  Add Karl Lagerfeld’s name into the mix and you know it’s officially the reign of Barbie.  The Kaiser collaborated with Mattel on a limited edition Karl Lagerfeld Barbie doll on Net-a-Porter, which went on sale today and sold out almost immediately.  The all black clad doll, gloves and sunnies to match, sold for $200 on the e-commerce site, which said it sold all 999 units.

Don’t fret if you couldn’t get your hands on one of these dolls.  Some business savvy buyers of the dolls have already put them up on eBay for sale. The cheapest listing is currently at $1000 with bids going up by the minute.  You can make a best offer on a $3500 listing.  How do you like them apples? Too bad Choupette wasn’t included in the package.  Nah! I still wouldn’t spend that much on silicone.  Love you though Karl!
