Now that Fourth of July is behind us, it’s time to turn up the heat and get colorful for the summer. This means hitting up your nearest nail salon and getting that gorgeous, vibrant manicure/pedicure combo. Essie launched its summer collection last month. Dubbed Haute in the Heat, 6-piece collection has something for everyone. On darker skin tones, these colors are extremely striking.
The creamy Urban Jungle is an alternative to the white that a lot of girls sport in the summer time. Fierce, No Fear is a muted coco brown color that looks so cool with my skin tone. Two coats provide a nice sheen that doesn’t require a top coat. Of the four vibrant colors, Strut Your Stuff, a darker cyan blue is stunning. It looks incredible on the fingers or toes. I am going to be wearing this color this weekend on my vacation in Puerto Rico.
The vibrant Roarrrrange is reminiscent of the Netherlands jersey so if you’re rooting for Holland, it’s time to hit up your manicurist for this color. Ruffles & Feathers is a green that will go make your summer neutrals pop. Green goes to with almost everything in my closet so this is going to be a staple this summer. Haute in Heat is the eponymous color that anchors the collection. It’s a beautiful pink that looks good on but nothing extremely special. I think Essie does an incredible job at creating pink colors so this one wouldn’t be a must have if I could only pick one polish out of the six.
As Essie puts the it, the collection is “strong. intense. polished. inspired by women with instinctive style, these six irresistible shades amplify summer’s sultry mood with bright, sexy color. consolidate your power with gorgeous colors perfect for a cosmopolitan safari or a walk on the wild side. this varied palette gives women a bevy of fashionable options that go perfectly with an unstoppable attitude.”
