Topshop has introduced a collection of hand-crafted silk scarves to raise money for vulnerable women in West Bengal. The four silk scarves include two traditional Indian designs, and two tie-dye prints.
The collection is being sold in partnership with Key To Freedom, an initiative set up to support the charity Women’s Interlink Foundation. WIF works with young women who have been exposed from an early age to domestic abuse, and often trafficked into the sex trade. The project provides them with safe housing and teaches them skills like sewing and textile printing, to allow them to become financially independent.
All profits from the sale of the scarves will be donated to the Women’s Interlink Foundation.
The scarves (£32 each) will be sold in London’s Oxford Circus, Brompton Road and White City stores, on Topshop.com, and in New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
