Dior hit the bull’s eye when it hired Raf Simmons as its creative director. Each of his creations has graced the red carpet on the most high profile women. His pre-fall and fall 2013 collections did not disappoint. Filled with opulently voluminous gowns that mimic the pretty flower Monsieur Dior always thought of a woman’s shape to be, as well as tailored jackets and grandiose jewelry, the collection is fit for a night at the opera. Exaclty what photographer Willy Vanderperre did when he photographed models Daria Strokous, Iselin Steiro, Marie Piovesan, Anastasia Ivanova, and Alex Kirtoka for Dior’s online magazine.
The photographs were shot in one of Paris’ iconic and opulent theaters, the Opéra Garnier. The models walk through the gilded halls surrounded by dramatic candelabras, Gothic sculptures and the velvety luxe seats. The entire editorial is appropriately titled A Night At The Opera. This is the age of Dior gals, and it is worth taking notice. Snag a piece if you can before they become collector’s items.
