Sheer French sophistication is what we got for fall 2013 for the Lacoste lady. As the brand turns 80 years-old, this year, it is staying true to its sports heritage yet has an added touch of grow-up flare that we couldn’t get enough of. From the show notes to the music and accessories, the colorful collage of pieces sent down the runway was invigorating. The absence of polo shirts the brand is known for was refreshing. In their place were sculptural dresses in vibrant hues, leather dresses and long sleeved sheath dresses in a lovely cobalt blue with black piping. The men got a taste of an elevated look with anoraks and casual separates in abstract prints and checks.
