Re/Create New York ft. Kanye West, Anne Hathaway, Kate Moss

Damn Hurricane Sandy ravaged New York and its outer boroughs last October, leaving behind devastation that is still being felt in 2013. New Yorkers know that people helping people goes a long way, which is why CREATETHE GROUP, Inc. has just launched RECREATENewYork.org, a charity for creators and originators to give back to their communities.

For its first project, RE/CREATE 2013, celebrities like Kanye West, Kate Moss, Anne Hathaway, Marc Jacobs, Chloe Sevigny, Alexander Wang, Julianne Moore, Nicola Formichetti, Tilda Swinton have donated a personal item to be auctioned off on eBay with proceeds benefiting the Sandy relief efforts of New York Cares. Over 50 prominent creators will give one-of-a-kind items including Nike trainers, an Alexander McQueen dress, handbags, lingerie, jewelry and more. Our personal favorite is Kate Moss’ signed book that says ‘Luck You Sandy.” There will be three 10-day auction rounds, the first which started January 11 exclusively on eBay.
