Lady Gaga Forced to Reveal First Fragrance ‘FAME’

June 19, 2012

Lady Gaga was forced to reveal the bottle of her first fragrance Lady Gaga Fame via Twitter after a fashion editor tweeted a photo of the bottle and its outer packaging (above).  Gaga then tweeted a photo along with “Looks like photos of my perfume are being leaked. Oh you fashion editors, I could just crinkle my hands at you!” Oh social media! Can’t live without it.

The perfume, which Gaga originally said would smell like blood and semen is a dark in color (the first black colored eau de parfum) and is housed in a clear bottle. A gold art deco cap tops off the bottle, which is enclosed in a black box with gold packaging. Lady Gaga Famewill launch in September to coincide with her VOGUE cover, which was shot by Mert & Marcus.

So what will the scent smell like? Instead of having the tradional top, middle and base note structure, Gaga’s perfume will use ‘push-pull technology,’ so the ingredients can ‘interact harmoniously together.’  According to internet sources, Gaga’s blood was sampled to pull some essence for the Fame.  There is some very fancy technology for this unusual scent. According to WWD:

The scent features three main accords: dark, sensual light (inspired by belladonna, the deadly nightshade); opulence (a fusion of dripping honey, saffron and apricot nectar), and whispers magnificence (a floral layer of crushed tiger orchid and jasmine sambac).

Gaga summarized the fragrance nicely with a press release saying ‘Fame, a beautiful prospect with a dark heart. X Gaga.”
