Danielle Gray, editor of Style & Beauty Doctor, gives us her must have items for spring in our fashion must have series. Danielle turned me on to Nars Taj Majal blush (an orange shade that looks absolutely magnificent on my dark skin) and an ultra bright pink lipstick from Yves Saint Laurent. She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to beauty products and color cosmetics for all skin types and fashion how-tos. Follow her on twitter at (@StyleNBeautyDoc) and check out her must have items below for inspiration on updating your spring wardrobe.
1. Alexander Wang Shelly Booties: I’ve wanted these since they showed up on the Saks website for pre-order a few months ago, but I waited too long and they were sold out in my size. I now have them on pre-order at Bergdorf Goodman, but there’s no ship date yet (grrr). I love these because they add a toughness to spring’s super feminine trends like floral prints and midi skirts.
2. Lancome Rouge in Love Lipsticks: These lipsticks are super creamy and impart a gorgeous shine as if you’re wearing lipstick with gloss on top in one neat product. Plus the color lasts for hours.
3. Something in mint: Mint is one of spring’s biggest hues and I’m obsessed! I want mint suede shoes, a mint quilted handbag, and mint paper bag waist dress pants.
4. Make Up For Ever Face & Body Liquid Foundation: With warmer temps approaching, I like to lighten the load on my foundation. Make Up For Ever Face & Body is super lightweight, but provides a gorgeous semi-matte finish.
5. Floral prints. Though florals are definitely nothing new under the sun, I’m excited about the pattern this season especially when mixed with other prints. In the fall/winter my style takes on more of a tough, downtown edge but in the spring I’m all about that Upper Eastside charm.
