Growing up in the South for me meant wearing lots of florals in the spring time. My mom would often put me in Lilly Pulitzer dresses and Jack Rogers sandals in high school. The lovely prints always made me happy, even during April showers. For spring, florals make a come back in updated looks that can be worn by just about anyone. Dolce & Gabbana did it best with their 50s inspired frocks and midriff bearing separates that have been gracing the covers of magazines all spring. It’s a flower bomb that you can’t ignore.
Jumping on the floral trend is a cinch because so many brands, both high fashion and fast fashion, have created many showstopping pieces for any budget. You can wear a frock with metallic accents, mix floral pants with stripes for something a bit more whimsical or mix floral prints. If wearing all over floral seems too big a risk to take, go minimalist by opting for floral accessories like purses, shoes or silk scarves to accent your look, be it a little black dress or a feminine white ensemble.
