Temperley London’s Renaissance inspiration came to life on the fall 2012 runway. The collection resonated the opulence of that era with gold jacquard skirts and diaphanous blouses with lace insets. The entire collection offered appealing pieces Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge would wear to many of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee functions coming up this year.
The collection contained a slew of metallic gowns with Tudor-inspired embroidery (hello Henry VII). One deep blue gown with a neck draping looked as though it were made with the Duchess of Cambridge in mind. Alice Temperley followed suit with other designers by including some furs in her collection but mixed them with leather for a more modern feel. Need we forget the Russian-style fur hats that properly topped the heads of most of the models. The four gowns above are our predictions of what Kate might wear. The last gown, a glorious cream number with regal embroidering will be splendid on the young Duchess if she dares to go bold.
