Fusing fashion and technology is nothing new but showing a collection in 3D is something designers are slowly adapting . Sisters Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman of Marchesa partnered with HP to show their Spring/Summer 2012 collection in 3D at the Dream Hotel Penthouse on Wednesday night. Modeled by Jordana Dunn, Arizona Muse, Carolina Kourkova and other dynamo catwalk queens, the decadent confections shown by Marchesa for spring was a stunning reminder that fashion can be just as fun as it is glamourous.
Guests, including Emma Roberts and Rachel Zoe, oohed and aahed – in stylish 3D glasses – as each look from the collection came to life. HP was able to recreate the experience of the show, especially for attendees who did not have the chance to attend. Guests had the chance to experience the “looks” in an immersive and realistic way. According to Ann Finnie who is the PR Manager in HP said:
HP believes that live 3D has enormous potential for industries such as fashion retail, medical, enterprise decision support, as well the music and sports industries. HP Live 3D offers a rich visual experience that can empower artists to transform how they express their art and present it to their customers.
Marchesa let the shapes, textures and grandeur of their technique speak for itself, opting for colors such as petrol blue, lilac, and platinum instead of the neon and vibrant colors seen at other runway shows during New York Fashion week.
