New Additions to the Shoe Closet

September 5, 2011

Happy Labor Day Weekend Glamazons! I wanted to do a quick post of a few of my new favorite shoes.  I have a love affair with Kate Spade, particularly the shoe collection, which fits my personality and style perfectly.  Kate’s aesthetic is feminine and classically conservative at the same time, words that describe my style pretty well.  I received the gold Kate Spade Lora Suede Bow Sandals a few weeks ago and finally got around to breaking them in last week.  The Lora has a comfortable 3.25” heel, bronze metallic suede and satin upper, leather lining, and leather sole. It goes with so many things in my closet, from navy to black, brown to white and even sequins.

I’ve been dying for a comfortable patent leather round toe shoes for a while but was too lazy to go shoe shopping.  My mom found the black Ann Taylor Perfect Platform Pump and thought I would suit my everyday wardrobe need.  She was right, despite the fact that the shoes are a half size bigger (using lambs wool and Dr. Scholl’s to prevent slippage).  I have worn these pumps several times to break them in before fashion week starts this week because it will be my go-to shoes.

Finally my sparkly Charlotte Russe glitter platform pumps, which I’ve had for quite some time but never write about.  These are one of the most comfortable 5-inch heels I’ve ever worn (not kidding).  The heel is not too thin so I don’t wobble as I walk. For the price that these shoes cost (I received them for free at a Charlotte Russe event), they should not be this comfortable or durable.  I’ve worn these several times and yet the glitter is still in tact and it looks brand new.
