My birthday was two weeks ago, I turned 28. Happy Birthday to me! One of the goals I set up for myself was to be under 200 pounds by this birthday and I was happy to step on the scale and see that I was exactly 200. I had dinner with a small group of friends, followed by dancing and drinks in Tribeca. Unfortunately, I pushed the envelope a bit more and had too many drinks for my new lifestyle. I had my steak and veggies at dinner but went way past my maximum in drinks. Needless to say, I paid for it the next day in the form of a bad hangover.
The next week, I vowed to follow the Medifast plan to the letter. Eating the required meals, drinking tea and water and working out. Come Friday, I was en route to Washington, DC for the horse racing weekend. Let’s just say as much as I tried resisting the urge to splurge on booze, Jameson and Beefeater won out to my Pellagrino and lime. This weekend was torture because I had to review restaurants for three days. Though I made pretty good food choices, I wasn’t the best when it came to drinking. I had at least two glasses at dinner (Bourbon on the rocks or a glass of champagne). I am not sure if I made really good eating decisions over the past two weeks but I tried to add as much Medifast meals as I could. Actually, I was EXTREMELY good five out of the seven days each of the two weeks.
I stepped on the scale today and it read 198. I must have been good, although I only lost two pounds this week, I feel it is a personal victory. A testament to learning to make somewhat healthy decisions when it comes to what I eat.
This week has been a detox week. I’ve incorporated a lot of Kambucha tea and detoxifying teas into my daily eating schedule. I’ve also paid more attention to how I am feeling; listening to my body to tell me when I need to eat, when to drink more water and when to exercise. My goal for my next weigh-in (next Wednesday) is to lose 5lbs. Baby steps!
