I went on the Talbots site this morning to find a skirt to wear for a women’s luncheon next week and ended up staying on there longer to check out new merchandise. There are three new jackets for Fall that are must have staples: the Grace, The Kate and the Jackie. All three jackets are gorgeous in their own right, with different silhouettes and details making each piece special. The Kate Fit jacket immediately caught my eye, particularly the Boiled Wool Lady Jacket.
The strategic gathering at lapel and the pockets add a touch of romance and sophistication to the Kate. I love the shadow heather color, which will go with a lot of dresses, denim and skirts already in my closet. Talbots describes the Kate Boiled Wool Lady Jacket as: romantically curvy Talbots Kate Fit sits close to the body, contouring the shoulders, bust and arms and defining the waist. The jacket comes in sizes 2 to 20, which means plus size women can also add a touch of style to their Fall wardrobe, something that Talbots really endorses. The Kate Fit also comes in three other variations: a Riding Jacket, a Compact Crepe Belted Jacket, and a Stretch Flannel Two-Button Jacket, all of which retail for $199 each.
As always, knowing how to style a blazer is key to looking chic. It’s never a faux pas to wear it plain but adding a bit of personality to the jacket individualizes it. I love to add broaches, feathers, jewelry, silk flowers and even a silk scarf to my blazers to make them a bit more dressy.
