Glamazon Lookbook: Casual Friday at the Sculpture Garden

August 6, 2010

Casual Friday at the office allows us all to dress down, shedding the suits and blazers for fun and flirty outfits that can transition from an office environment to happy hour or dinner with the girls.  Scorching temperatures during the day are no problem for my outfit for today.

A breezy A-line skirt and a soft jersey tank is all I need to look chic but comfortable. I’ve had my eye on the Yacht Print Skirt at Talbots all summer but couldn’t get myself to spend $80 on it. Call me frugal if you will but I couldn’t justify spending that kind of money on a skirt this summer since I have so many navy skirts.

This Talbots Yacht Print Skirt  is quintessentially summer with a fun yacht print that exudes preppy but fun. The skirt went on sale last month and is now $19.49, a fab find.  I envision it being a part of my summer staples for years to come.

Navy is a sophisticated color that I usually pair with gold because it is so chic.  Pairing the skirt with a racerback T by Alexander Wang Racer-back Jersey Tank, Carolee pearl necklace and a Pucci royal blue silk scarf makes this outfit sophisticated and appropriate for an evening outing to the Sculpture Garden for Jazz with pals or hanging out at an outdoor restaurant for martinis.

Of course this outfit would not be complete without a quilted handbag with gold hardware from Paradox, an oversized gold dial Fossil watch, stacked Diana Warner bangles and dressy sandals from Steve Madden.
