So when Anthropologie assigned me with styling a glam rocker look, you know I had to amp it all the way up. This black high-low dress by Mare Mare for Anthropologie is the ultimate not-so-little black dress. First, it comes in sizes XS to 3X, meaning lots of gals and gents can rock this frock. I can see this as a bridesmaids dress or an evening gown for a wedding guest or a black tie optional gala.
Typically I would lean towards a dressy pump or strappy sandals like my black Stuart Weitzman NudistSong but I wanted to look and feel ultra glam and a bit edgy. Enter the Schutz Maya Glam Boots, the boot that was definitely made for walking and turning heads. The crystal embellishments all over the boots make this a statement shoe for fall. You can dress up jeans with these boots or have fun with a mini dress or skirt. The Schutz boots are selling out fast but Bloomingdale’s has sizes 6, 6.5, and 10 still available. These Jeffrey Campbell boots and Larroude boots have a similar feel to the one I’m wearing.
Styling tips for this gown:
- Add a moto jacket like this one or this one for a rocker/punk moment
- This cropped tweed blazer would also look chic and preppy paired with the dress
- I love the idea of mixing materials so add a cropped faux fur coat in either black or a fun pop of color and some strappy sandals
