It’s not too early to start planning Valentine’s Day outfit ideas. We’ll be back in New York City just in time to celebrate the most romantic day of the year. We’re planning on staying in like we normally do because we’re not into the overpriced pre-fixe menus and crowded restaurants. Come to think of it, this year might be different since indoor dinning is not advised due to COVID-19. We normally make martinis and cook something decadent while listening to music. We cap off the night with bubbly of course.
Whether you are single and celebrating with the girls virtually, have outdoor restaurant reservations (jealous if you’re in a warm weather climate) or staying in, this is the perfect time to get a little jazzed up to boost your mood. I love the color red, it is my power color after all, but I know it’s not a color everyone gravitates towards. So my first Valentine’s Day outfit idea plays of that color palette but it’s definitely a lot more wearable. Let me introduce you to red wine or burgundy. I love to drink burgundy as much as I love to wear the color. It’s romantic, looks a lot more luxe and compliments more skin tones.
I added leopard print with accents of gold and rose gold to a burgundy turtleneck sweater and my favorite ModCloth coat. The coat is currently available in sizes 2,6 and 10. Leopard is such a forgiving print and wearable at any age. This ruffled skirt from J.Crew is so darling (sold out sadly) and flattering too. I have included some leopard skirt options that will look equally as fabulous below.
Below are a few turtleneck options that would look great for this Valentine’s Day outfit idea. I love the idea of a turtleneck because it flatters most and is perfect for the chillier temperatures in February. I added my Brinker & Eliza Showstopper necklace because a statement necklace always makes an outfit look polished, especially on Zoom calls where participants only see you from the waist up. I wanted something dainty and delicate on the feet and these Loeffler Randall Camellia Sandals are just what the doctor ordered.
If I were going out, I’d add a coat like the Suri Coat by Santaler and my Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis bag to complete my look.
