Target just teamed up with three female designers — Cushnie, Lisa Marie Fernandez and LoveShackFancy — on a size inclusive dress collection that launched this week. There are over 70 dresses, priced from $40 to $60, in the collection with something for everyone.
I finally ventured outside the 3 block radius of my neighborhood in Brooklyn to go pick up my online order at my local Target on Tuesday. The full collection is in stores.
I got to peruse the collection in its entirety in the store, with gloves and mask of course! The fabrics are wonderful, good construction and the fit of the dresses I selected are very true to size.
What can you expect from each designer? Cushnie, one of the first Black women to collaborate on a collection for Target, created bodycon dresses and slinky satin slip dresses in neon colors and colorblocking. Size up if you’ve got curves. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t need a bra for the slip dress I got.
LoveShackFancy infused her shabby chic aesthetic into flirty ruffle and puff sleeve dresses my Southern girls are sure to love. This designer doesn’t make plus size so it was refreshing to see them create a collection us bigger girls could also wear.
Lisa Marie Fernandez also stays with her design DNA with polka dots and ginghams. Her collection is made for the beach. Hello Hamptons! I snagged a white button down dress with the most dainty details. It looks and feels so expensive.
