It’s the first Monday of 2020 and I’m feeling super invigorated to travel a lot more this year. With that said, I find myself scanning flights for sandy beach destinations and warm weather. A girl’s gotta escape the chill of New York City somehow. Today’s post is all about what to pack for a winter beach vacation as I prep for a trip to Puerto Rico.
I haven’t been back to Puerto Rico since the hurricane so I’m excited to go back and discover places Vieques, Flamenco Beach in Culebra and El Yunque National Forest. Of course I’m ready to dress and dine to my heart’s content. I have several items currently in my cart for a five day, four night vacation to San Juan and I just wanted to share it with you just in case you were dreaming of a winter beach getaway.
DAY TO NIGHT DRESSES
These dresses are meant to be thrown on for a restaurant lunch while on vacation. They can be dressed up or down depending on shoes and accessories. I love to wear some of the flouncy dresses with gladiator flats and a hat for sightseeing and swapping them out for high espadrilles or heels for a night out on the town.
THE NIGHT OUT DRESS
These dresses are for the gal who wants to hit up the hottest club scene in a town like Miami. I have curated some of my favorite dresses in both standard sizing and plus size below for you to peruse. Shop my favorite brands Eloquii, Nordstrom, Fashion to Figure, H&M, ASOS and Amazon.
WHAT I’M WEARING
This yellow ruffled frock is a preview of the Johanna Ortiz x H&M collaboration launching this spring. The Colombian designer has partnered with H&M to bring affordable takes on her boho chic design aesthetic. The entire collection launches March 12 but the brand gave us a preview of four of the dresses in the lineup, including this statement yellow palm print maxi. The numbered sizing goes up to size 18 and while the lettered sizing goes up to XL.
The yellow dress I’m wearing is sold out but I have linked a few of them currently for sale on eBay. The dress looks and feels very luxe. It’s pretty long so if you’re below 5’4 you’ll have to get it altered. My shoes are MiuMiu (sold out), bag is by Poolside from last year, sunnies are from Amazon and hat is from ASOS.
