We’ve sprung forward and gained an hour, which means more daylight hours and warmer weather (fingers crossed). More daylight hours means I can snap my outfit of the day shots later in the day after T gets home from work. We normally shoot most of our content on the weekends in the winter because he works full-time and is my principal photographer. All I have to say is I can’t wait for 7 pm sunsets.
I modify my dressing in the winter months with warm accessories like Uniqlo and DKNY opaque tights because I love wearing dresses all year round. I also layer many of them to maximize the warmth. There are several dresses in my closet that are so special that I take every opportunity to wear them. Yes, I’m that girl! The one who shows her bare legs in the frigid cold just to look cute. This tulle dress, in particular, is one of them. It is a strapless dress that that isn’t very practical in the winter but I still had to make it work.
I wanted to wear the voluminous tulle strapless dress from Eloquii to a cocktail party last month but needed to ensure that I wouldn’t be freezing. Being so close to Valentine’s Day, I decided to layer my statement bow jacket underneath the dress to transform it. The combo is so lovely and made me feel so darling. I accentuated my waist and kept the boxy jacket cinched with a wide belt. I love wearing crisp button-down shirts or long sleeved t-shirts under my strapless and sleeveless dresses to make them more weather appropriate in the fall and winter months.
