African Prints

February 26, 2018

I don’t know about you but I’m ready to spring forward into warmer weather. New Yorkers got a taste of lovely spring weather last week with a whopping 73 degree temps.  I, of course, took advantage and went for a manicure/pedicure at Polished Nail Salon in Park Slope, followed by showing off said pedicure by wearing my favorite Louis Vuitton sandals.  I savored the opportunity by pulling out one of the dresses I got custom made for me during my trip to Ghana in September.

The off the shoulder frock is going to be my go-to piece when the weather finally warms up.  I sourced a lot of Ankara print fabrics while I was in Ghana and had our family seamstress Rita sew an entire collection of summer pieces for me to wear this year.  Unfortunately, none of the items I am wearing are available for purchase however there check out Etsy for a plethora of designers that make African-inspired dresses and separates.
